Endometriosis -

The Chameleon in My Belly

In this concept-driven portrait series, photographer Jasmin Breidenbach—herself affected by endometriosis—collaborates with fellow patients to shed light on a condition that is often misunderstood and invisible. Titled Endometriosis – The Chameleon in My Belly, the project gives space to those living with the illness to visually articulate their personal experiences of chronic pain, exhaustion, and emotional resilience.

The participants were actively involved in shaping the imagery, contributing their stories and ideas to ensure an authentic and multifaceted representation. Through a blend of aesthetic and documentary approaches, Breidenbach creates a platform for visibility, empathy, and dialogue. The series has been published in major German outlets including Süddeutsche Zeitung and Stern, contributing to public awareness and advocacy around endometriosis.
