Der Ort Zwischen Uns - Hamsa
Die Hamsa ist ein Schutzsymbol in Form einer Hand. Sie begegnet einem in vielen Kulturen im Mittelmeerraum, Nordafrika und der Levante. Für mich ist sie Heimat. Ich bin in einer Wohnung aufgewachsen, in der die Hamsa meiner Mutter präsent war, gesammelt und sichtbar aufgehängt. Vielleicht deshalb bringt sie mir Ruhe, als würde sie ein wenig über mich wachen. In jeder Wohnung war sie das Erste, das ich aufgehängt habe. Oft trage ich sie als Ring oder Kette. Die Hamsa erzählt von Schutz, Zugehörigkeit und von einer Tradition, die mich begleitet leise, alltäglich, selbstverständlich.

The Hamsa is a protective symbol in the shape of a hand. It appears in many cultures across the Mediterranean, North Africa, and the Levant. For me, it is home. I grew up in an apartment where my mother’s Hamsa was always present, collected and visibly hung. Perhaps that is why it brings me calm, as if it watches over me a little. In every apartment, it was the first thing I hung up. I often wear it as a ring or a necklace. The Hamsa speaks of protection, belonging, and a tradition that accompanies me quietly, everyday, naturally.
